Oxford Houses

Washington State has more Oxford Houses than any other state. Oxford houses are democratically run, self-supporting and drug free homes. They model is similar to the model for Alcoholics Anonymous - each group manages itself, while getting some support from the network of other groups. There are no staff at Oxford houses. The residents meet weekly to manage the business of the house, interview and approve new residents, and monitor each other’s sobriety and 12-step meeting participation. This creates an affordable option for sober living, as compared to professionally run sober living companies that employ staff. Typically, each house has between 6 to 12 residents. To find a vacancy, search the directory for openings and contact the house for an interview.
