One in ten people have had a substance use disorder and an estimated 1 in 3 people are affected by the substance abuse of a family member or close friend. Whether or not you consider yourself a specialist in treating substance use disorders, addiction will surface in your counseling practice. The Center for Advanced Recovery Solutions ADDICTION TRAINING INITIATIVE provides learning opportunities for licensed therapists to build skill and confidence in treating substance use disorders and the impact to couples and families.
